Mensans of the World Circle Homepage

The Mensans of the World Circle is just what its name suggests: a WebRing composed of Mensan participants around the world. To join the Mensans of the World Circle, you must be a Mensan and have a Webpage of your own with Mensa-related info or links, or know someone who will add the necessary HTML code onto their page for you. There is no requirement for page content but it shouldn't be commercial since we are using a free service [WebRing]. There is no requirement where the WebRing code is put on your page, as long as it is obvious (and preferrably on your top page or close to it). Think of this WebRing as a gigantic circle around the globe. Each member of the WebRing is linked to others of like interests and coverage. Once anyone enters a WebRing, they can move from site to site all over the world and stay with sites of a particular interest group. The MWC can take you to Internet sites all over the world devoted to brilliance, erudition, and partying! As always, this group has NOTHING OFFICIAL to do with any Mensa organization anywhere. We are just smart folks linked together.

Join the Ring

Joining the ring is fairly easy. First, fill out the following form. When you finish, press the back button in your browser to come back here and read the rest of the instructions.

Next, you need to add an HTML blurb to one of your pages. You can do this one of two ways: by using this blurb, making sure to change "__your_site_here_" to the number you were just given as your site ID number, or, alternatively, you can wait for the email that is automatically sent to you upon joining the queue and copy the information there directly to your homepage (it will fill in the necessary values for you in the message). You will also need a copy of both the MWC banner and the WebRing logo, both of which should be placed in your images or main directory. The banner should be set at width=250 and height=100 for best display in the tables.

If you are an AOL user, you'll need an adapted blurb to make the tables and gifs appear as you would expect on a normal server. If your page is on AOL in the members.aol.com directory, download this blurb, instead of the one above, making the changes noted above to the site ID number and your gif directory.

After you have done both, email the Ringmaster [link is below] and request addition. The Ringmaster receives a notice from the webring every time a new page is added to the queue and checks the queue daily but you may speed up the process by making a direct request via email when you have everything properly installed and coded. After you have been added to the ring, you will receive an email message notifying you of the fact, as well as any other relevant information. It isn't as complicated as it sounds. [grin]
